This is Cardi B’s first high-fashion campaign and it includes a massive billboard ad hanging on the prestigious Louvre, Paris. In her latest Instagram post she wrote “I remember how I felt seeing myself on a billboard in NYC Times Square but Paris! Wish I was there to see it in person!”.

Cardi B is the first female rapper to be featured in a Balenciaga campaign. The last time a celebrity featured was back in 2015, when singer Sam Smith fronted the Balenciaga Fall-Winter campaign.
Cardi B is undoubtedly making money moves. Only a few weeks ago, her sex-positive anthem WAP, featuring Megan Thee Stallion, broke the record for biggest 24-hour debut for an all-female collaboration on YouTube.
The culmination of her undeniably authentic energy, wildly successful career and her admiration for high fashion certainly caught the eyes of Balenciaga.
