Collina Strada debuts trippy digital runway show for SS21

Collina Strada designer Hillary Taymour debuts her colorful and trippy “Change is Cute” collection featuring pieces with vibrance and a message. The collection is in collaboration with illustrator Sean Kierre Lyons, and is presented in a short animated video with an inclusive cast of models. The video is psychedelic, funky, and very rock and roll.

The collection exists in the intersection between playfulness and more a serious message of social change and equality. In a statement on the collection Taymour states, “In this moment of global precariousness, the importance of solidarity has never been clearer; in the absence of systems that can hold us, we are forced to hold ourselves. We brought together a network of collaborators—longtime co-conspirators and new friends alike—to construct a new virtual world of inclusiveness and joy.”

The pieces are so colorful and fun of course, and some pieces are the novelty type like the pastel yellow tank top that has the word “vulnerability” embroidered across the chest in red. Other pieces include psychedelic prints on flowy pants and matching button down shirts, dresses with still lifes of fruit, and and even a hoodie with the collection title “Change is Cute” in a font made out of plants.

The main focus of the brand is sustainability and he video if fitting to that goal as the models are running, jumping, and dancing in different farms in each respective scene. “We are in a crucial state of change right now and the more we [do, the more we] can impact others to take action.”
