NYFW has come to an end, and who better to close it off than our one and only bad gal? With her lingerie line Savage x Fenty, Rihanna turned heads with her entourage of femme fatales walking down the runway in jaw-dropping lingerie.
The show was the ultimate representation of diversity, as the cast was represented by women of all sizes, shapes and colours. The runway set design was in the theme of a tropical forest, with the models posing and moving around the amazing flora.
The visually pleasing show radiated female empowerment and togetherness as the diverse cast of women simultaneously moved their shimmery bodies to flowy rhythms while showing off Fenty’s ready-to-wear collection.
The collection included cut-out corsets, fishnet bodysuits, sheer nightgowns, silk pyjamas and lace bras and undies with bright colours, animal print and softer earth tones dominating the overall aesthetic. Not to forget the long-sleeve gloves, thigh-high stockings and faux fur coats that gave us life with their seductive yet elegant edge. Can this be our everyday look, please?
As if this wasn’t enough, Rihanna’s longtime muse and friend Slick Woods, went into labor straight off the runway. Talk about female power and strength. With this incredible show, Rihanna proved once and for all that she is an iconic feminist, making inclusion cool and desirable by empowering and embracing women from all walks of life. The fashion game will never be the same after the Fenty effect and that’s a fact.
