This British brand has been seen on every Instagram “it-girl” and even on stylish celebs like Dua Lipa and Bella Hadid. House of Sunny released their new Spring Summer 2021 collection and it is every woman’s summer dream. Their collection was inspired by “escapism, dreaming of remote islands, the beauty of the perfect wave, retro beachwear, holiday nostalgia and an endless summer.” It’s the summer we would’ve lived in an alternate, pandemic-free timeline. Though their physical showrooms aren’t open for public exploration, the brand successfully offered us up a glance into their beach-ready, airy collection via use of a virtual showroom.
The collection is full of breezy yet sophisticated matching sets. It really feels like a grown woman’s beach day. A muted signature lime green shows up on an array of pieces such as the Island Halter and the Island Peggy puffy cardigan, a piece that is reminiscent of the 70s in its groovy construction. Upping the anti with the Jungle Jessie leopard-print trousers and the Jungle Vest leopard-print tank, we get the stylistic impression of a wildlife safari with an elegant spin. Most prices fall between ₤60 and ₤90 (or $70 and $115 USD) — so these are definitely investment pieces, with the Mini Coco Bralette in chocolate or beach blue and the sunny citrus Reef Cap sitting at more affordable, accessory-appropriate price points. The funky, flamingo orange Hockney Dress popularized by Kendall Jenner has also just been released by the brand for purchase. We need it!
All in all, we are in love with this sustainability-focused collection from House of Sunny. Trendy sweater vests, lightweight knit dresses, and patterned overalls give us options without being overwhelming on the mind.
