Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs debuted their 2019 Spring Collection at New York Fashion Week on September 12th, 2018. The 55 piece collection featured bright, playful colour schemes, drawing to its ‘Candyland’ theme. The collection also noted hints of 80s fashion using elements such as strong shoulder pads and high waisted pants. Mini dresses featured extravagant ruffled details and satin fabrics.

Proenza Schouler

American designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the designer duo behind Proenza Schouler were back in New York for their Spring 2019 show!

The brand took a break from the Big Apple to spend some time in the Paris Fashion Week circuit. Now that the duo is back in America they’ve realized that they no longer want to create ‘special occasion’ couture wear but instead create clothing for the everyday woman.

The collection was reflective of their time away from home with European elements combined with American styles. The showcase consisted of garments made from classic materials such as denim, cotton and leather. The designers played with interesting silhouettes and made unconventional adjustments to staple pieces. The collection featured blazer-style denim jackets, drop waist dresses made in denim and various fabrics as well as shiny vests and silver button ups. The looks were definitely a refreshingly unique take on everyday wear.
