Giambattista Valli’s FW 18 beauty showed us how powerful filter apps are

Giambattista Valli fall ’18 collection was a multicultural hodgepodge of textures, materials and shapes. Sheer, ruffled dresses, glossy thigh-high boots, plaid suits, and floral kaftans all adorned the catwalk. Every look was clearly inspired by the 70’s. But enough about the clothes. What really stole the show was makeup artist Val Garland’s genius contribution: faces drenched in glitter. She put heaping amounts of M.A.C Lip Conditioner ($16) as a primer for the sparkly look. “You really want to press it into the skin,” she told Elle.

First of all, all designers should really be thinking about how their shows are compatible with whatever filter app that’s trending right now. That would be Kira-kira in this case. Second, I hope this is a trend that is here to stay because any quick fix to a glowy, luminescent face is something I am very here for. *runs to the nearest m.a.c store to stock up on glitter*
