Mimi Wade, the British American designer, debuted her winter SS2020 collection at London Fashion week and we are in love. The collection oozes with a sultry and womanly exuberance, featuring crystal bralettes and draping arm jewelry, reworked red/blue statement pieces that scream liberty while also being a little reminiscent of the Spice Girls. Wade’s low-cut denim and exposed thong combination takes us right back to the playful, laissez-faire red carpets of the early 2000s. Do you miss your flip-phone yet? I do. My hot pink Nokia razr would have paired so well with Wade’s emerald green collared-fuzz cardigan.
My favourite aspect of the collection is definitely those little office skirt/office jacket pairings—professional, promiscuous, and perfect for a candlelit post-divorce dinner with your ex. Also, the silk dresses. I love how timeless these pieces feel.
