Six Runway Inspired Makeup Looks to Try This Fall

Summer has a way of sneaking by way too quickly, but we have plenty to look forward to with fall right around the corner. Oversized sweaters and all things pumpkin are great, but my favorite part about this cooler season is the ability to wear bolder makeup looks without sweating them off. I took a look back at this year’s fall fashion shows for some wardrobe inspo, but my eyes were drawn to the makeup, from bright red lips to a high-shine glossy look. Here are six of my favorite styles, along with some of the products you need to achieve these runway looks.

I’ll start with my favorite. Bold graphic eyeliner is ALWAYS in style, so why not get inspired by Fendi’s Fall 2018 show and try it yourself? They even paired these mod looks with the classic 60’s beehive hairstyle, so you know I’m living for it. My new favorite liquid eyeliner that will help you get the cat eye of your dreams is the Flyliner Longwear Liquid Eyeliner by Fenty Beauty. This liner will last all night, and well into the morning if you don’t have a quality makeup remover. It’s that good.

There was a time in my life when I stuck with mostly nude eyeshadows and saved any sort of color or excitement for my lips. I’m so glad I grew out of that phase because nothing brings excitement to my day like a pop of intense color. One of my favorite ways to incorporate color is using a striking cobalt blue eyeshadow like we see on the model at the Fall 2018 Valentino show. This look is also a favorite of Kim Kardashian West and her beloved makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic, and the KKW x Mario 10 Pan Eyeshadow Palette has the perfect shade of blue to help you recreate it.

I love the matte liquid lip trend but it can be way too drying on our delicate lips, so I’m glad to see that traditional creamy lipsticks are still in style. This Ronald van der Kemp runway look features a glossy red lip that you can easily achieve with this Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Cayenne. You can’t go wrong with a creamy bright red lipstick, especially one that’s moisturizing!

If you want to take a natural, your-skin-but-better look and elevate it to a luxurious level, adding some shine will do the trick. To get a glossy glow like the models at the Johanna Ortiz Fall 2018 show, look no further than the Fleshpot from Flesh. Using this eye and cheek gloss is a fun way to give your skin some shine that will actually last all night.

I’m not going to lie, the craziest color I’ve ever put on my lips is probably in the purple family, but this Maison Margiela show has me considering more daring options. If you’re inspired by the blue and green lipsticks worn at this show, you won’t be disappointed by the Velour Liquid Lipsticks by Jeffree Star Cosmetics. The colors range from the typical pinks and reds to the more exciting greens, blues, and even grays.

Smoky eyes are perfect for cooler fall days, and the models at this Dundas show expertly pull off this classic look. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette has 12 gorgeous shades including a deep noir for a dramatic smoky eye. With the range of colors in this palette, you will be able to transform your look from day to night in no time.
