Lil’ Kim Shut it Down at VFILES | NYFW Spring 2019 READY-TO-WEAR

New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer ’19 has commenced and NBGA is here to let you know what’s good! First up to put on a show this week is the creative designer collective VFILES.

VFILES has a history of legendary fashion shows, and the SS19 womenswear show that kicked off NYFW was no exception. From music by A-Trak to visuals by Asap Mob’s Crew’s Hidji Films to Lil Kim shutting down the runway in a yellow corset dress with a matching wig – it was everything.

The youth-oriented fashion collective presented a range of emerging designers showcasing their newest collections, as well as launching its own ready-to-wear line: V-files Yellow Label, designed by Hood-By-Air director Paul Cupo. The collection featured workwear inspired pieces, involving cut-out blazers and matching mini-skirts, denim overalls, bright yellow sweatshirts, and uniform-inspired sets and coveralls. In short: “Clothes for their interview, first day of work, club and skate all in one”, as Cupo stated after the show.
