Simon Porte Jacquemus one of my favourite designers, opened Paris fashion week this year with a collection inspired by his trips to Morocco.
This year’s London Fashion Week was a sartorial celebration of power women and inventive dressmaking. Just like the NYFW, several references were made to the ongoing #MeToo and Time’s Up movements, proving that fashion stretches beyond tailored stitchings and textile draping.
The show opened with church bells ringing and Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All of the Stars” playing from the speakers. The gates of heaven were used as background for the catwalk.
Versace’s fall collection was a wonderful medley of colourful prints, tightly fitted dresses, and animal print bodysuits. Sporty, youthful numbers mingled with timeless, stand-out pieces.
Tom Ford’s show exuded female strength through oversized tuxedo catsuits, fishnet socks, large silver hoops, tailored pantsuits, and accessories emblazoned with the words ‘Pussy Power’ in rhinestones.
