Kim Shui is one of our most beloved designers here at NBGA. She just never fails to impress with her playfully sexy yet subtle asymmetrical shapes and silks. Shui’s 2020 winter ready-to-wear collection had its first night out on the Vogue New York runway, impressing an audience that was cool enough to feature both Rico Nasty and Kehlani.
The show itself was sexy-subtle in classic Shui tradition, but it also was glamoured up by consistent bursts of electric cotton candy blues, lime greens, black silks, colorful butterfly patterns. Shui employs a variety of different materials and texture-constructed atmospheres to create seamless, comprehensive looks that retain their wearability even while being so totally eccentric.
Here’s a rundown of a few of our favourite looks.
