Jason Wu

Jason Wu showcased his Spring Summer 2019 collection at NYFW, a fierce move showing a significant rebranding in his career. After nearly 11 years in the fashion industry, Wu renamed his collection and redesigned his graphic logo, unveiling a 16 piece ready to wear collection on mannequins he designed. The collection utilizes a variety of silk, lightly coloured fabrics and textures evoking a delicate, feminine touch. The silhouettes are simple, using small embroidery and fabric details while using neutral and pastel colour schemes. “There’s no bigger them in this collection,” Wu says of his collection. “It’s about 16 dresses that define who I am.”

Brandon Maxwell

Brandon Maxwell’s 2019 Spring collection was a hit at NYFW week. Maxwell’s 43 piece ready to wear collection seemed to echo the image of an All-American girl using elements such as collared shirts and dressy daisy dukes, somewhat paying homage to his Texan roots. Models were dressed in a vibrant fuschia, teal and gold colour scheme. Dresses were loose, flowy and utilized a variety of fabric details. Among the models walking for Brandon Maxwell include Victoria Secret angel, Lily Aldridge.

LaQuan Smith NYFW

LaQuan Smith debuted his 36 piece Spring 2019 collection on September 8th at New York Fashion Week. The ready to wear collection features a variety of bold, form-fitting and overly revealing outfits making a major statement on the definition of beauty and femininity. It seems as if his pieces were created to evoke a sense of sex appeal and express one’s womanhood. Of the 36 pieces displayed at his show, many of them are designed with deep neck lines and stark cuts along the waist for a slimming appearance. His opening piece was a dress featuring women’s mugshots.
