This slogan leaves us to question who exactly we are without these external prescriptions. Without age, without gender, without origin, what are we left with, what do we hold in our hands as justification for the very fact that we live? Anouk’s theory is simple. Alluring. It entices us with its subtle logic: We are creators, unspoilt. We make ourselves with descriptions that come from inside. We are pure. Like the lamb, Anouk’s prized animal.
Next, Anouk lures us in with their most personal revelations in an episode of “UNFAMOUS”—a wonderfully revealing, emotive episodic series brought to us by the BYUS Collective based in Hamburg, Munich and Berlin. As we saw with the Lera Ábova episode, BYUS introduces “UNFAMOUS” with the goal of showcasing important and intriguing lesser known talents from all over the music, beauty, and art scenes.

This episode inspires us to reexamine our self-understanding, clear the veil around our definitions and how they bind themselves to our belief about our destinies.
